SCORING SUMMARY

HOW IT HAPPENED

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • The Highlanders are off to their first 2-0-0 start since 2005.
  • Thirty three fouls were committed in the match: Radford (17), Iona (16).
  • Evan Szklennik led all Highlanders with four shots (three on frame).
  • Aitor Pouseu Blanco played all 90 minutes in goal, recording six saves (two in the final 10 minutes).
  • RU outshot the Gaels, 12-11.

QUOTABLE
  • "Iona has some exceptionally talented players and is a very good team. Sunday noon games are hard to turn around for, but I thought our group did an excellent job of preparing and executing a game plan that allowed us to limit their technique and see us create some great chances. We should have scored a second, but again, I was pleased with the way we closed the game out and got a great result against a very good team." ~ Radford head coach, Marc Reeves

UP NEXT
  • Radford returns to Cupp Stadium for its home opener, Sept. 5, against East Tennessee State at 6 p.m.
