HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Maddie Palmer notched her 12th double-double of the season, but the Highlanders only hit .079 in a 3-1 loss to Liberty, Friday night, in both teams' Big South volleyball opener inside the Dedmon Center.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Palmer carried the load, offensively, unleashing a match-high 16 kills to go along with 11 digs, one ace and one block.
  • Radford received a balanced defensive effort as five Highlanders reached double-digit digs.
  • Kaylor Nash posted her third double-double of the season (36 assists and 10 digs).
  • Taylor Bouras created havoc at the net, rejecting a match-high seven attacks.
  • Caroline Douglas and Sirena Vorster tallied 12 and 11 kills, respectively, for the Flames.
  • Margaret Latchford's 17 digs led three Liberty players in double figures, defensively.
  • The Highlanders' 15-match home winning streak came to an end.
  • Prior to tonight, Radford's last home loss was against Coastal Carolina on Oct. 18, 2013.
