- Radford begins a stretch of four games on the road in a span of seven days when they travel to Akron for a Sunday night matchup, with tipoff set for 7 p.m.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- Record: 1-1
- Radford comes off winning its 14th straight home opener, a 91-69 decision over Central Penn on Wednesday.
- Starters Ed Polite, Jr. and Sterling Christy missed the game with injuries, but the Highlanders got a balanced team effort with five players scoring in double figures.
- In his first career start, freshman Donald Hicks led the way with 19 points and eight rebounds.
- Justin Cousin had career highs of nine assists and four steals to go along with 16 points.
- Freshman Devonnte Holland has started his career a perfect 10 for 10 shooting from the field, while also making both of his free throw attempts.
- Devin Cooper's 13-point performance was a career-best, while Caleb Tanner's 14-point outing was two shy of his career-high. Tanner hit four 3-pointers in a game for the fourth time in his 22 contests as a Highlander.
- Radford enters the game with five players averaging in double figures through two games, led by Tanner's 11.5, with a sixth just below at 9.5.
- The four newcomers that played in the first two games combined for 71 points, while making 26 of 44 shots. The Highlanders have also totaled 69 points off the bench.
- After a 13-rebound performance on Wednesday, Christian Lutete leads the team with 8.5 boards per game. Hicks and Holland are both averaging 6.5.
SCOUTING AKRON
- Record: 1-1
- Akron is also coming in off its first win, a 72-62 home decision over American on Thursday. It followed a 90-82 road setback to Youngstown State in the opener.
- The Zips prevailed over American despite shooting just 36 percent from the floor and 23 percent from 3-point range. However, they made 27 of 34 free throws and had a 44-30 rebounding edge.
- Three starters are back from last year's squad that went 26-9 and won the MAC regular-season title before falling in the tournament championship game.
- Senior center Isaiah Johnson, an All-MAC First Team member last season, leads the team with 15.5 ppg this season.
- Sophomore guard Jimond Ivey has averaged 13.0 points and 10.0 rebounds in the first two games.
- Senior forward Kwan Cheatham (14.5 ppg) and junior guard Noah Robotham (13.0) are also in double figures.
- Sophomore guard Josh Williams was on the MAC All-Freshman Team after making 58 3-pointers, second-most by a freshman in program history.
- Akron has won three MAC regular-season and tournament titles since 2009 and posted at least 20 victories in 11 straight seasons.
