CROSS COUNTRY BACK ON COURSE FOR VT ALUMNI INVITE

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford men's and women's cross country teams return to action and the Virginia Tech campus on Friday, competing in the VT Alumni Invite.

The Highlander men will get their initial 8K test of the season, while the women run at the 6K distance for the first time. Courtney Burton, Courtney Rice and Allison Brennan each clocked personal-best 4K times in the season opener two weeks ago, while Mariah Quintero cracked the top five in her first race as Highlander.

Transfers Frisco Poole and Haben Zemichael and freshman Logan Griffith had strong RU debuts in 6K races on the men's side, while underclassmen Cameron Mims, Ashenafi Kidanu and Nathan Burgreen also ran well as part of the top five.

The meet gets underway with the women's race at 6 p.m. The nine-team field includes Liberty, Longwood, VMI, Ohio, Akron, East Tennessee State and the host Hokies.
