Â
NINETY SIX, S.C. – Khushboo Thiagaraj followed her one-under (71) in round two, with the same one-under (71) in the final round, which tied her for a seventh-place individual finish at the Big South Championship on Wednesday at The Patriot at Grand Harbor.
Â
Thiagaraj started on the back nine and shot three birdies, which led her to a two-under halfway through the round. She carried that score through five holes of the front nine, but bogeyed a hole to be one-under. She parred the last three holes that gave her a one-under for the day and a 217 final score.
Â
Her 217 final score was the best at a Big South Championship by seven strokes. It was also the Highlanders best finish as a team in a 54-hole Big South Championship since 2010 when Radford shot a 929. However, the 939 shot by the team this week marks second-best at the 54-hole championship.
Â
Olivia Jay and Meagan Board finished four strokes better than in the second round as both players shot a five-over (77). They finished 36th and 37th respectively in the individual leaderboard, while Morgan Cox finished 38th. The three of them finished with three birdies.
Â
The Highlanders ended on a high note after shooting a 306 as a team in the final round, which marks the lowest of this season. Kasidy Beckel was the only Highlander to earn postseason honors as she was named Big South All-Academic.
