LINEBURG TO BE INDUCTED INTO RADFORD HIGH SCHOOL HOF

RADFORD, Va. – Radford University Director of Athletics and former Radford High School standout Robert Lineburg will be inducted into the Radford High School Hall of Fame on Saturday, August 26.
 
Lineburg was a member of the Bobcat football and basketball teams from 1982-1986, will join his father Norman in the hall of fame.
 
The Radford High School Hall of Fame Class of 2017 consists of six new inductees. They are athlete Elizabeth (Beth) King (Class of 1990), athlete Dana Odell Palmer (Class of 1988), athlete Camille Rutzinski Kelly (Class of 1984), athlete Sidney S. Johnson (Class of 1960), athlete and contributor George A. (Abie) Williams, Jr. (Class of 1972), and Lineburg (Class of 1986).
 
"I would like to thank the hall of fame committee for selecting me for the 2017 class. It is a great honor to join so many tremendous student-athletes, coaches and contributors in the Radford High School Hall of Fame," Lineburg said. "Growing up, many of these men and women were my heroes, so joining them is very special."

Williams and Rutzinski Kelly have also played instrumental roles in the success of Radford Athletics.
 

Serving as the president of the Radford Athletics Foundation, Williams and his family have led the charge in helping Radford Athletics move forward. On April 29, the Williams family saw their name added to the Radford baseball field.

Rutzinski Kelly played volleyball for the Highlanders 1984-88 and was a four-time recipient of the President's Outstanding Student Award.
 
The ceremony will be held in the Radford High auditorium August 26 at 5 p.m.
