BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Eight total blocks and 87 digs were the key numbers in Radford volleyball's four set victory over Campbell on Friday night at Gore Arena in Buies Creek, N.C.
 
Radford (13-1, 3-0 Big South) fell behind by three points a couple of different times midway through the first set. A Campbell (10-8, 0-4 Big South) service error gave Radford a 14-13 lead and the Highlanders didn't fall behind again in the first set. The Fighting Camels cut the deficit to one 20-19 but two kills each by Maddie Palmer and Stephanie Neast and another Campbell error gave Radford a 25-21 victory.
 
The Highlanders jumped to a 9-1 lead in the second set, but the Fighting Camels hung around and took their first lead late in the set, 23-22. Two straight points from Campbell sealed the second set, 25-22, and gave each team a set win.
 
The third set was extremely close until Radford closed out the set on a 5-1 run, which gave them a 25-19 victory. The set victory put them up 2-1 in sets won. The fourth and final set saw 17 ties and nine lead changes. The final tie came at 20 until Radford scored five of the last eight points. Palmer recorded her 20th kill of the match for the final point and clinched the win for the Highlanders.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
•  Stephanie Neast and Maddie Palmer each recorded a double-double in the match. For Neast it was her second career double-double and for Palmer it was her ninth double-double this season.
•  Neast recorded 14 kills and 13 digs, while Palmer had a team-high 20 kills and 14 digs.
•  Kaylor Nash earned the start at libero and picked up a team-leading 29 digs.
•  Led by Neast with five total blocks, the Highlanders totaled eight blocks (four more than Campbell).
•  Haley Kleespies led the team with 35 assists and picked up two kills.
•  Neast, Palmer and Nash picked up one service ace each as Radford recorded three.
•  Campbell led in digs (92-87), assists (92-87) and kills (54-47), however the Fighting Camels made more attack errors (34-15) and had more service errors (9-6) than the Highlanders.
