KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Representing the Radford men's soccer team on an awards list once again, freshman forward Amadou Macky Diop has been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Third Team.

Diop took the Big South by storm this fall, scoring nine goals and tallying five assists for a total of 23 points. After his stellar debut season, the Dakar, Senegal native was promptly named Co-Big South Freshman of the Year, First Team All-Big South and to the Big South All-Freshman Team.

He ranked top-10 among all players in the conference in shots (2nd), shots per game (2nd), points (1st), points per game (1st), goals (2nd), goals per game (1st), assists (6th), assists per game (3rd) and game-winning goals (4th). Over the course of the year, he was named Big South Attacking Player of the Week twice and Freshman of the Week once.

The Highlanders finished the 2018 season with a 7-9 overall record after bouncing back from an 0-5 start. They placed second in the regular season standings, earning the second seed and a bye heading into the Big South Tournament, but ultimately fell to Presbyterian in the semifinals.

In 2017, Radford had two players on United Soccer Coaches All-Region teams. Fraser Colmer was named to the Second Team and Kieran Roberts made the Third Team.
