HIGH POINT, N.C. – Playing its third doubleheader on the season, Radford dropped the first two games of the series to High Point as potential inclement weather forced the first two games of the series to be played on Friday. The Panthers took game one 7-3 and game two 15-6.

GAME ONE

High Point opened the curtain raiser with a run in the first as the Panthers put runners on the corners for a Daniel Millwee RBI single through the right side. Carson Jackson added a RBI single in the third to hand the Panthers an early 2-0 lead.

The Panthers' starter Drew Daczkowski held Radford hitless through the first three innings. The Highlanders put two runners on in the second inning, but a double play erased the Radford threat.

Radford's first hit came in the fourth after Spencer Horwitz led off with a walk, Andrew Szamski drilled a first pitch to center field. Austen Zente made a running catch into the wall, however the ball popped out on the impact of the wall.

Horwitz hustled around the bases to score the first Highlander run and Szamski held up at third base for his third triple on the season resulting in his 14th RBI.

Matt Roth put Highlanders on the corners with another walk. With no outs in the inning, Garrett Matheny grounded into a double play, allowing Szamski to score the tying run.

High Point broke the game open in the fifth, loading the bases without an out. Jordan Sergent lined a double to right-center field to plate two runs. After taking a 4-2 edge, JJ Woodard added another run on a RBI ground out in the frame.

Entering the game in the fourth, Jonny Vizcaino allowed only one Radford hit over four innings of relief, walking only two batters as he picked up his fourth win on the season.

Colby Higgerson was responsible for the hit, leading off the eighth with a double down the left field line.

High Point added to its unanswered runs as Zente lifted a two-run home run over the left field fence, pushing the lead to 7-2.

Sending pinch hitters to the plate in the ninth, Mason Scoville led off the ninth with a single through the right side and Luke Belanger followed with a single to center. The two runners moved up on a passed ball, while Radford's third run came on a Will Harless sacrifice fly to left field.

The Highlanders entered the ninth with only two hits, doubling the total in the final frame. Radford left seven runners on base in the game. Roth and Matheny were the only two Highlanders to reach base twice on the day with two walks a piece.

Win: Jonny Vizcaino (4-0) (4.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K)
Loss: Ryan Sande (0-1) (4.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 2 K)
Save: Rion Murrah (1) (1.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K)

GAME TWO

High Point scored the first nine runs of the game on eight hits. Carson Jackson and Hunter Lee were responsible for three RBIs a piece during the span.

Radford's first two runs of the game came in the seventh inning as Matheny launched a first pitch over the left field fence for his first collegiate home run. Following a ground out, Higgerson ripped a double to center field, scoring on a Horwitz single up the middle.

After Radford scored the two runs, High Point added six more runs, including four in the bottom of the seventh. Zente provided two RBIs during the six-run stretch.

Radford wasn't finished as the first two runners of the inning reached on a hit by pitch and walk. Higgerson's third double of the day plated one run and Horwitz followed again with a three-run homer to right-center to give Radford six runs in the 15-6 loss.
