CREASY ANNOUNCES 2020 SOFTBALL SCHEDULE

RADFORD, Va. – Radford softball head coach, Hope Creasy, announced the 2020 softball schedule on Thursday morning, highlighted by home games against Virginia Tech and James Madison.

Those two teams made it to the 2019 NCAA Regionals and so did another on the schedule in Longwood. James Madison made it to the Super Regionals a season ago.

"After a productive fall season, we look forward to moving in to our skills portion to focus on some finer details both offensively and defensively," Creasy said. "As we continue to fine tune several aspects, we look forward to an exciting 2020 game schedule. Our paths cross with several competitive programs across the ACC, CAA, SoCon and MEAC. As always, the Big South Conference is unpredictable; with all programs on the rise it should make for a fun season."

The 2020 season opens with an Elon Tournament featuring a pair of contests against Elon and Siena on Feb. 14-16. The Highlanders will then travel to the Tidewater area to compete in the Hampton/Norfolk State Tournament. Radford won't face Hampton but will take on Norfolk State in a doubleheader on Feb. 20 before ending the tournament with Toledo, Sacred Heart, Hartford and Youngstown State.

Then the Highlanders travel in Johnson City, Tenn., in the ETSU Tournament on March 13-14. Radford will face host ETSU and Tennessee Tech twice during the weekend.

Longwood, the 2019 Big South Tournament champion, is the first conference series lined up on March 17-18 in Farmville. Then the Highlanders will travel to Clinton, S.C., for another three-game set with Presbyterian on March 20-21.

Radford will return home after a month to face Gardner-Webb on March 27-28, then hit the road for nine game road swing. The first is a doubleheader with Norfolk State on April 2 and then a conference series with Hampton on April 4-5.
