RADFORD’S REDEMPTIVE THREE SET SWEEP OVER CAMPBELL

BUIES CREEK, N.C.—Radford (9-15, 5-7 BSC) posted a three-set redemptive victory over Campbell on Saturday evening, tying the season series at 1-1. The Highlander's defense led the way versus the Camels, totaling 17 team blocks.

SET ONE
Radford and Campbell opened the contest with the lead swaying from team-to-team. A kill from Morgan Goodman tied up the set at 15 all which in turn fired up the defense whose two-point stand saw blocks assists from Hailey Flowers, Goodman, and Kennedi Johnson

Campbell stayed within striking distance of Radford but two kills from Goodman, a Johnson service ace, in addition to a block from Mackenzie Meehan and Goodman would be all the Highlanders needed in the 25-22 set victory.

SET TWO
Radford's hot start had them up 4-1 in the early goings. The Highlanders were able to post two- and three-point rallies to stay ahead of the Camels. Stephanie Neast's kills tied the set twice, and paired with another Johnson ace propelled Radford back into the lead.

Campbell struck their 25t point the stay in contention but no matter to Radford. The Highlanders' defense sent back two rejections from Meehan, Goodman, and Jordan Coomes to close the set 27-25.

SET THREE
The 4-0 scoring run put the Camels in a hole early on and the rest of the set proved to be all Radford. The largest deficit for Campbell at one point was eight points, but they were able to close the gap and reach double digits. However, the Highlanders were well on their way to 25 before the Camels could rally back.

A Campbell bad set in conjunction with a set point, match closing block from Neast and Johnson were the final points for Radford, 25-18.

STAT OF THE MATCH
As a team, the Highlanders set a new season high in total blocks at 17 and block assists at 30. In that same spirit, the block leaders for Radford were Meehan, Johnson, and Goodman posting seven blocks each. For Meehan, she tied her season high in blocks while Goodman and Johnson established their new season highs. Johnson's four service aces also served as a new season high, and the most for either team tonight.
