SZAMSKI POWERS HIGHLANDERS IN 17-4 THUMPING OF BUCKNELL; RADFORD SLUGGS FIVE HOMERS

Spartanburg, SC - - -Redshirt senior right fielder Andrew Szamski hit a pair of two-run home runs and scored three times to help lead the Radford baseball team to a, 17-4, seven-inning thumping of the Bucknell Bison on Sunday afternoon.

Radford (2-3) clubbed five homers and recorded a season-high 13 base hits for their second straight win against the Bison, who dropped to 0-6.

Szamski, who leads the Highlanders with three long balls and seven RBI's already this season, launched his first shot in Radford's nine-run fourth inning, which blew the game wide open. Catcher Will Harless went 2-for-4 with a home run and drove in three runs and center fielder Kyle Butler hit a 2-run shot to left center for his second bomb of the campaign. First baseman J.D. Mundy (3 runs) also added his first home run as a Highlander and reached base four times (HR, single, 2 BB).  Second baseman David Bryant (2-for-3) added an RBI double and scored a pair of runs.
