First baseman Spencer Horwitz would add an RBI single, right fielder Andrew Szamski lifted an RBI sacrifice fly and Mundy smoked a run-scoring double to complete the frame.

The Highlanders scored twice more in the bottom of the third to move ahead by an 8-0 count. Podaras, who also threw out two attempted base stealers at second base, went the other way for a solo homer over the right field wall. Matheny scored the second run as he scampered home from second after Butler beat out an infield single at first base.
