
WOMEN’S TENNIS DEFEATS GARDNER-WEBB, FINISHES WITH WINNING RECORD IN BIG SOUTH

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's tennis team topped Gardner-Webb, 4-3, on Saturday and finished with an above .500 record in Big South play.
The win moves Radford to a 10-8 overall record and a 5-4 Big South record. It marks the first time in over 10 years the Highlanders finish conference play with a winning record.
Drousile Dzeubou clinched the match for Radford as she picked up her 13th win of the season. She defeated Daniela Naupari. Mayumi Saguchi defeated Tyler Blalock on court 4 for a consolation victory and the Runnin-Bulldogs third point.
Malin Falk and Katey Fruehauf clinched the doubles point for Radford and gave them a 1-0 lead. Then Fruehauf fell victim to Adrienne Vesley on court 5 and GWU tied the match at one. Then Anastasia Belyaeva gave Radford a 2-1 lead before Manon Desol knotted things back at two with a win on court 6.
Radford was the first team that won consecutive singles match thanks to Falk and Dzeubou, who gave them their third and fourth points in the match.
Falk and Belyaeva each picked up their 11th singles match victories of the season with the wins on Saturday.
UP NEXT
The Highlanders will stay in the NRV and welcome Bluefield State on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
