RADFORD, Va. – Welcome to the Radford Roundup, where fans can find out all the information they need on upcoming Radford Athletics events taking place between Tuesday, May 7th and Thursday, May 9th.

TRACK & FIELD

at 2019 Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships
Where: Rock Hill, S.C. (Irwin Belk Track & Field Complex)

The 2019 conference championships will be hosted by Winthrop University.
Participating teams include Campbell, Charleston Southern, Gardner-Webb, Hampton, High Point, Radford, UNC Asheville, USC Upstate and Winthrop.
Ticket prices: Combo passes (all days included) cost $12.00, Daily Admission is $5.00 and children five years or young and those with a college ID get in free.
In its first year as a member of the Big South, Hampton took home the top spot at the indoor championships, narrowly beating out High Point.
Going into the weekend, Radford has results that rank top three in the conference in seven different events: 200m, 400m, 100mH, 3000m steeplechase, 4x100m relay, high jump and long jump.
Those who finish top three during this weekend's meet earn all-conference honors for that event.

SOFTBALL

at Big South Championships | No. 3 Campbell - Wednesday, May 8th at 2:30 p.m.

The Radford softball team was swept by Campbell last weekend. The Camels outscored the Highlanders 12-6, but two games were one-run contests.
Prior to the doubleheader on Saturday Radford controlled its own destiny for third place in the conference. However, with the two losses, the team fell to sixth.
No. 6 Radford has a chance at revenge in the first round of the Big South Championships as Campbell moved into third place, which means the two teams will take on each other at 2:30 p.m., on Wednesday.
If the Highlanders win, they will play No. 2 USC Upstate on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. If they lose, they will play immediately after their first game on Wednesday.
Radford did well in the double elimination tournament a year ago and were runners-up in 2018 with a 3-2 record.
Sydney Fisher is creeping up the single-season top 10 hits list. She currently ranks fifth and is two hits away from being tied with Kristen Shifflett in fourth.
Fisher has a .394 batting average, which currently ranks inside Radford's top 10. She also is tied for the team lead with 11 doubles.
Senior Hannah Medlam also has 11 doubles and ranks second on the team with a .347 batting average.
Kayla Huffman and Jessie Marvin both rank inside the conference's top 10 in ERA. The duo has 162 strikeouts through 315.1 innings pitched.
