
HIGHLANDERS FALTER LATE IN PIRATE COLLEGIATE

GREENVILLE, N.C.—The Radford women's golf team finished the Pirate Collegiate Classic in seventh place on Tuesday, finishing with a 918 total score over three rounds.

Two Highlanders finished within the top 20 athletes, with sophomore Beatriz Mosquera Quintas leading the team in a three-way tie for 15th. Quintas finished with a total score of 226 which is four strokes improved compared to her finish at the William & Mary Fall Invitational earlier this month.

Sophomore Natalie Welsh wasn't far behind finishing the tournament strong with a 75 par that helped her place tied for 19th after starting the tournament 27th. Sidney Walker had a strong second round but fell back late in the third round placing 23rd in the tournament with a total score of 230.

Freshman Jayde Dudley also put in another decent performance finishing the tournament tied for 27th.

As a team the Highlanders' 918 score was just one stroke short of sixth-place Cincinnati. Welsh led the team with eight birdies and two eagles, while Quintas and Walker both collected eight birdies
