HIGHLANDERS DEFEAT USC BEAUFORT, FINISH THIRD AT OYSTER SHUCK MATCH PLAY

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Radford women's golf team closed out play at the Oyster Shuck Match play on a high note, as the Highlanders defeated USC Beaufort to claim third place in the tournament.

Jayde Dudley and Sidney Walker capped off respective 3-0 tournament records in the final match, with Dudley notching her second 8 & 6 win of the tournament. Walker won her final match, 2 & 1, while Natalie Welsh earned her second win of the tournament, 4 & 3. Both Dudley and Walker were named to the all-tournament team for their performances.

Radford, playing with four players for the tournament, conceded one of the five matches. Beatriz Mosquera Quintas lost a close match to the Sand Sharks' Deliah Prescha, 1 up, to close out the scoring.

For Radford, this is the second straight year the Highlanders have finished third at the Oyster Shuck Match Play. Radford has lost to the eventual tournament champion in the semifinals on both occasions.

The Highlanders return to action on Sunday at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic. The College of Charleston is the host institution for the event, which takes place at the Kiawah Island Resort.
