HIGHLANDERS DOMINATE IN FIRST BIG SOUTH WIN

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The women's tennis program cruised their way to a 6-1 victory over Hampton Wednesday with Radford sweeping the doubles point and winning all but one of the singles matches.

Anastasia Belyaeva won her third straight singles match on court one to help lead the Highlanders with a 6-3, 6-0 final score to clinch the match. Drousile Dzeubou also locked up court two 6-1, 6-0 while Malin Falk also moved swiftly in a 6-1, 6-3 win on court three.

Wrapping up singles play was Tyler Blalock and Jeanine Acierto on courts five and six respectively, with the two Highlanders winning in two sets each. The wins sealed a 6-1 victory and has Radford outscoring their opponents 12-2 in their last two matches.

In doubles play the dominant theme continued with all three pairs winning their matches. Falk and Katey Fruehauf were the first to finish for the Highlanders winning 6-0 with Belyaeva and Acierto clinching the doubles point with a 6-1 win. Dzeubou and Blalock rounded out the victorious Highlanders with a 6-2 win on court one.

The Highlanders will stay in conference play for a road match with Gardner-Webb this Saturday.
