ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Every single member of the Radford Women's Golf team moved up the leaderboards thanks to strong showings in the third and final round of the French Broad Invitational on Wednesday.
Â
Senior Natalie Welsh was the top performer on the squad to close out the tournament, posting a +4 on the day. She started on the 10th hole, but hit her stride on the front nine with birdies on the 1st, 6th, and 8th holes. She finished the week 29-over par and tied for 42nd in the 70-golfer field.
Â
Also shooting +4 on Wednesday was redshirt sophomore Niki Batac. She also bagged a birdie on the 6th hole after starting her day in style with one on the 11th. At 30-over par for the tournament, she ended up in 46th place.
Â
Jimenna Ramirez recorded a solid +9 in the third round, birdying the 5th hole and shooting for par on 10 other holes. Riko Nagai (+14) and Kaitlyn Mosdell (+16) finished up tied for 56th.
Â
The Highlanders posted a 315 in the round, which is leaps and bounds better than the 340 and 337 that the squad reached on Monday and Tuesday. The score helped them bypass Northern Kentucky and Appalachian State to move a pair of spots up the standings.
