GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Radford men's basketball team took a 47-33 loss to Navy in a neutral site contest at Furman's Timmons Arena on Saturday evening.
It was a game the Highlanders (1-4, 0-0 Big South) will quickly want to put in the rearview mirror, as they shot just 23.6% on 13-of-55 shooting. Radford's defense did put together a good game on the other end of the court, holding the Midshipmen (2-3, 0-0 Patriot League) to a season-low 35.7% from the field.
Neither team could get it going from outside, hitting a combined 4-of-31 shots from three-point range.
Chyree Walker was once again strong on the boards, pulling down 10 rebounds to go with his team-high three steals.
Josiah Jeffers had another good defensive game, grabbing two steals of his own.
Artese Stapleton was the closest to double-figure scoring for Radford, tallying eight points and adding a block.
Tai'Reon Joseph and
Shaquan Jules contributed six points each.
