Women's Golf Improves Score In Round Two Of UNC Asheville Tourney

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – In the second round of UNC Asheville's French Broad Invitational, the Radford Women's Golf team sunk a trio of birdies and trimmed three strokes off of their first-round score.

Natalie Welsh accounted for two of those birdies, recording one on the 10^th hole and then another on the 16^thhole. She, and teammate Niki Batac, each sit at +25 and tied for 52^nd after shooting 11-over and 13-over respectively on Tuesday.

The third bright spot came on the 10^th hole as well, this time from Jimenna Ramirez. The sophomore also shot 13-over on the day and is tied with fellow Highlander, Kaitlyn Mosdell, at +3-, tied for 62^nd.

One of Radford's most steady players, Riko Nagai, faced some struggles and ended the day 16-over par. She is now +32 in the tournament and sits tied for 64^th on the individual leaderboard.

UP NEXT
The Highlanders will play their third and final round of the French Broad Invitational on Wednesday, beginning at 10 a.m. That will conclude the fall season and spring competition kicks off with Charleston Southern's Rivertown Invitational on Feb. 28.
