SERIES HISTORY
Radford and George Washington are only separated by a few hours, but the two programs have only ever played each other one single time. That meeting came on Nov. 8, 2013 when the Colonials took a 76-54 victory on their home floor.
In the 2013-14 season-opening loss, Ya Ya Anderson led the Highlanders with 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting. The rest of the squad struggled shooting the ball and Radford finished the game with a 33.3% field goal percentage and a 23.8% 3-point field goal percentage.
SCOUTING THE COLONIALS
Picked to finish 13th in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll, George Washington has failed to prove the doubters wrong thus far, but there is plenty of reason for optimism.
Although Preseason Second Team All-Conference pick James Bishop has been inefficient shooting the ball, he's averaging a team-high 15.2 points per game. Chesterfield, Va. native Joe Bamisile supplements the scoring with 13.6 points per game and Brendan Adams give the Colonials three double-digit scorers with 11.0 points per game of his own.
Maryland Terrapins transfer Ricky Lindo Jr. leads the team with 84 total rebounds, a category in which GW ranks 59th in the nation. The Colonials have also been excellent guarding the perimeter, holding opponents to just 28.5% from deep. Lindo and Bamisile have formed a fearsome defensive duo, combining for 38 blocks on the year.
TREND SETTING
Now that the Highlanders have 10 games under their belts this season, some trends are starting to become clearer even though some may have no credence on the actual outcome of the game.
