Radford Opens Season on Strong Note

RADFORD, VA. – Radford opened its season Wednesday afternoon with a strong 6-1 victory over Bluefield State College.
The Highlanders started the day winning the doubles point with ease as Demis Taramonlis and Konstantinos Raptis won court two 6-1. Yevhen Sirous and Guilherme Severin clinched the doubles point on court one, with Aditya Balsekar and William Crane finishing the doubles sweep with a 7-5 victory on court three.
Moving on to singles play, Raptis was the first victorious Highlander on court four winning 6-3, 6-0. Severin dismantled his opponent on court three 6-4, 6-1, and Sirous clinched on court one 6-2, 6-4. Balsekar and Taramonlis added victories on courts five and two respectively to finish the day.
Next Up
Radford will play host to future Big South foe North Carolina A&T at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
