Highlanders Finish Regular Season with Senior Day

RADFORD, Va. – Radford (6-10) lost a tough match in their regular season finale Sunday afternoon to George Washington (5-5). It was also Senior Day for Radford, as they honored Tyler Blalock and Jeanine Acierto's careers at Radford.

The doubles point was closely contested once again to start off the match. Salma Loudili and Melissa Ifidzhen gave Radford an advantage with a 6-3 win on court one, but George Washington evened the point with a win on court two. Blalock and Acierto teamed up for the first time this season and came up just short in a battle on court three that ended in a tiebreaker 6(0)-7.

From there it was decided that the match would only be played to clinch, and George Washington was able to claim three singles courts for the 4-0 win. Camryn McClure did win her first set 6-3 on court five before going unfinished.

Up Next
The Big South Tournament is set to kick off this Saturday as the Highlanders will travel to Charlotte, N.C. to face Presbyterian in the semifinals.
