RADFORD, Va. – Welcome to the Radford Roundup, where fans can find out all the information they need on upcoming Radford Athletics events taking place between Monday 26th through Monday May 3rd.

 BASEBALL


at Longwood - Friday, Apr. 30, 5 p.m.

Series: Radford leads, 22-17
Records: Radford (18-15,12-11 BSC) | Longwood (11-24, 4-17 BSC)

  • Radford bounced back with three conference victories this week, including a series win over High Point.
  • The team hit .341 through four games and plated 36 runs – an average of nine a game.
  • Radford will carry the momentum to Longwood for a three-game series this weekend.
  • Last week, David Bryant hit .375 and led the team with two home runs and eight RBIs last week. He tallied six hits and had a 1.250 on-base plus slugging percentage.
  • Longwood enters with an 11-24 record and is led by freshman Eliot Dix with a .342 batting average and 32 RBIs.

  • Radford won its third conference series this season after a pair of wins over Presbyterian after dropping the first contest.
  • Jessie Marvin came to the rescue and held the Blue Hose scoreless for 12.0 innings and the Highlanders took the series.
  • Sydney Fisher leads the Highlanders with a .366 batting average and Riley Oakes is right behind her with a .320 average.
  • Campbell is sitting atop the Big South standings with an 11-1 conference record.
  • Destini England leads the team with a .358 batting average and Bri Bryant has 13 extra-base hits with 21 RBIs.
  • Georgeanna Barefoot has a 1.78 ERA with a 10-5 record and 10 complete games with 71 strikeouts through 90.2 innings pitched.

  • Radford had just one game this past week and were excellent in a 17-4 beatdown over Presbyterian.Radford has already clinched their spot in the postseason but their opponent still is not locked up.
  • The Highlanders are the #3 seed in the upcoming Big South tournament, and will travel to Campbell on Friday.
  • Ava Goeller tied for a team-high in goals against Presbyterian with four, which put her at 30 total this season becoming the first freshman in program history to reach that mark in their first season.
  • Jennifer Shield scored a tied for team-high four goals against Presbyterian, fueling the offense through the early going. Shield also picked up two ground balls and forced two turnovers.
  • Katie Bendrick was a force on defense against Presbyterian, winning nine draw controls to pace the offense. She also forced three turnovers, a team-high, and picked up four ground balls.
