
Moran Victorious, Radford Men and Women Second at JMU Invitational

NEW MARKET, Va. - The Radford Highlanders Men's and Women's Cross Country teams earned second place finishes at the JMU Invitational Friday evening. The meet was highlighted by a dominant victory for Hannah Moran en route to strong team performances across the board.
For Moran, it was her second victory on the season to remain unbeaten so far in a Highlander uniform. Her finishing time of 18:27.5 over 5.2 kilometers was good for nearly a 30-second winning margin. Moran lead a strong team finish, finishing second in the meet with 47 points (George Washington, 31). Moran was joined in the top-10 of the race by Rachel Werking who finished fourth in 19:20.5.
Rachel Millirons (20:21.7), Chloe Wellings (20:36.2), MacKenzie Gardner (20:52.1), Savannah Hoff (21:28.6) and MegAnne Gilmore (21:34.8) finished up the scoring for the Radford women.
The Highlanders were one of three regionally ranked teams in the race. George Washington is ranked sixth in the Mid-Atlantic Region by USTFCCCA and Richmond is currently ranked 10th in the Southeast Region, the same region in which Radford is ranked 15th.
On the men's side, Joshua Daggett led the way with a second-place finish, crossing the line of the eight kilometer course in 25:56.3. Three other Radford men placed in the top-10 on the day: Sam Sikora (6th), Nate Jennings (8th) and Luke Richards (9th).
Clay Kelly (28:16.7), Hayat Khan (28:23.3), Alejo Cobos (28:46.8) rounded out the scoring for the Highlander men.
The Radford men finished second in the race with a total of 41 points.
