Men Waste No Time in 7-0 Sweep Over Hampton

RADFORD, Va. – Radford (2-3) opened up Big South play Sunday afternoon with a 7-0 sweep of Commonwealth rivals Hampton.
In doubles play the Highlanders were efficient in clinching the point with strong victories on courts two and three. Aditya Balsekar and Robert Hagen won 6-1 on court three while Guilherme Severin and Konstantinos Raptis won 6-0 on court two to give Radford the early 1-0 edge.
In singles play all six Highlanders won in straight sets. Hagen was about as dominant as it gets with a 6-0, 6-0 win on court six while Raptis also made quick work of his opponent with a 6-1, 6-0 win on court four to make it a 3-0 Radford lead.
Severin had the clinching court on court two as he won 6-0, 6-0. Andres Silva added to the lead with a 6-0, 6-3 win on court three. Demis Taramonlis was the final Highlander to finish on the day on the top court with a 7-6(3), 6-0 win.
