SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – Natalie Welsh and
Caleigh Street both shoot 3-over par and are top 10 on the individual leaderboard to lead the Radford women's golf team through one round of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate.
With a +21 (305) as a team, the Highlanders head into the final round in fourth place out of 13 teams.
Welsh continues a fantastic run of play this spring, shooting in the 70's for the fourth time in six rounds. She recorded four birdies on Monday and matched her best round of the year, in which she also shot 73 at the Buccaneer Classic back in October.
Street was a last-minute replacement for teammate
Niki Batac and she played excellently. The freshman from Jewell Ridge, Va. had two eagles and two birdies in her very first round of the spring.
Jayde Dudley (+7, T-29
th) and
Riko Nagai (+8, T-36
th) each played well, avoiding anything worse than a bogey while racking up pars on a combined 20 holes.
Jimenna Ramirez (+10, T-46
th) rounds out the group.
