Highlanders Cruise by Sharks 5-0

ORLANDO, Fla. – Radford (7-4) cruised to victory over Long Island late Wednesday night to the tune of a 5-0 victory.

After a lengthy rain delay, play finally got going around 7:30 p.m. and both squads started with singles play. Andres Silva picked up the first win of the night in dominant fashion 6-3, 6-1 on court three. Demis Taramonlis was the next Highlander to finish with a 6-2, 6-4 win on court one to give Radford the 2-0 lead.

Guilherme Severin finished up a strong 6-3, 6-2 win on court three and then Konstantinos Raptis won easily as well 6-3, 6-2 to clinch the match for the Highlanders. Aditya Balsekar and Robert Hagen were the final Highlanders to finish up singles play, but both had their games paused in third set tiebreakers and went unfinished.

In doubles play Radford was equally as strong quickly clinching the point. Silva and Taramonlis won 6-0 and were first to finish while Severin and Raptis clinched the point with a 6-2 win on court two.

The Highlanders are back in action tomorrow for their final match in Orlando, Fla. against North Carolina Wesleyan at 3 p.m.
