Radford Falls at Elon in Regular Season Finale

RADFORD, Va. – Radford (12-7, 6-1 BSC) fell in their regular season finale Wednesday afternoon at Elon 5-2 despite some close matches across the board.

The evening began with a tightly contested doubles point. All three courts went the distance, but Elon was able to grab court one in a tiebreaker and court three 7-5. Guilherme Severin and Konstantinos Raptis were up 6-5 on court two, but went unfinished.

In singles play Elon took two courts to go up 3-0. Aditya Balsekar battled for his 14th straight singles win on court five winning 7-5, 7-5 to get Radford on the board. Elon clinched the match winning their third singles court, however.

Robert Hagen was able to add another point to Radford's total has he collected a big win on court six 7-6, 3-6, 6-4. Radford had a lot of close matches that went to tiebreakers as well. Both Demis Taramonlis and Andres Silva on courts one and three respectively saw two-set matches decided by tiebreakers in both sets.

Up Next
The Highlanders are gearing up for the Big South tournament with play scheduled to begin next week in Charlotte, N.C. Radford is still awaiting to hear who their opponent will, but will know after the conclusion of Gardner-Webb vs. North Carolina A&T this Friday.
