RALEIGH, N.C. — NC State hit three home runs while pitching a shutout as the Radford baseball team fell to the Wolfpack 10-0 on Saturday evening at Doak Field.
Radford (13-29) struggled to generate much offense, as the visitors were held to only five hits on the night, all singles. Shortshop
David Bryant and third baseman
Bradlee Preap were among those that contributed with a base knock.
The Wolfpack (28-13) struck in the first inning and never looked back, scoring two runs on a homer by LuJames Groover III. Groover added another long ball in the eighth, this time a three-run shot that put NC State ahead 9-0.
The Highlanders did get several positive performances out of their bullpen, as
Brandon Feathers and
Gannon Kadlecik both pitched a scoreless inning in the fifth and sixth, respectively.
Matt Willadsen (2-3) earned the win, tossing seven shutout innings.
Zach Davidson (1-4) took the loss for Radford.
