Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Highlanders Downed by ETSU on Tuesday Night

RADFORD, Va. — Despite having 11 corner kicks on the night and several high-quality scoring chances, the Radford men's soccer team fell to ETSU 3-0 in non-conference action at Cupp Sttadium on Tuesday evening.

"I don't think the score line was indicative of the game tonight," said Radford head coach Chris Barrett. "I was pleased with our overall play. We had a lot of the ball and sustained a lot of possession. We didn't create enough quality chances and that has been a reoccurring theme this season so far. We will continue to work on our attacking movements in the attacking third of the field in order to try to break teams down to create chances. There has definitely been improvement in the last few games, so we are staying positive for our conference season."

The Highlanders (1-6-1) certainly had their fair share of opportunities, as they had six shots on the night while holding an 11-7 advantage in corner kicks. Near the very end of the first half, James Barrett had a look inside the six-yard box, but his shot deflected off the left post and outside the net as time expired in the first half.

ETSU (4-3-1) was paced by Cameron Carroll, who recorded two goals on the night, including the go-ahead marker in the 6th minute on an assist from Tarik Pannholzer. Carroll added another in the waning seconds, all but assuring the Buccaneers of a victory.

Bryce Peacock earned the starting nod in goal for Radford, his third start of the season. The freshman made three saves, facing 14 total shots from the opposition. Cole Hunter was the winner in net for ETSU, making a pair of stops.
