RADFORD, Va. – The Radford men's basketball team pulled away late to defeat Roanoke College, 89-72, in a preseason exhibition on Carilion Clinic Court in the Dedmon Center on Monday night.
Sophomore
Kenyon Giles picked up where he left off during his Big South All-Freshman campaign a year ago, leading all players with 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field. The shifty guard showed off his range with a 3-for-5 performance from beyond the arc and added four rebounds, three assists and a steal.
Making his debut in a Radford uniform,
Chandler Turner acquitted himself quite well, posting 21 points on 6-of-8 shooting to go with seven rebounds. Fellow debutant,
Truth Harris, came off the bench to contribute nine points and a team-high nine boards.
The Highlanders' biggest positive from the contest was their seven blocks as a team, a figure that matches their season high during the 2022-23 season.
Roanoke College made a positive impression on the Dedmon Center faithful, hanging tough for much of the evening. Zach Rosenthal caught fire from deep early and finished with 15 points and six rebounds while Marcus Morgan added 15 points of his own.
