Antoine's Game-Winning Shot Lifts Highlanders to 66-62 Win Over Marshall

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. – A Bryan Antoine four-point play with 1.5 seconds to go in regulation lifted the Radford men's basketball team to a 66-62 victory over Marshall at The Greenbrier on Friday night.

After a lengthy review confirmed the Highlanders (1-1) would inbound the ball with 3.4 second to go and the game tied at 62-all, Antoine came around a pair of screens and found himself open in the corner nearest the Radford bench.

The senior guard rose up and drilled a fadeaway three, drawing a foul in the process. The Tinton Falls, N.J. product hit his free throw as well, sealing a hard-fought win in front of a sold old crowd inside Colonial Hall's ballroom.

Before Antoine's game-winning shot, Kenyon Giles was the star of the show. The sophomore guard produced a career-high 22 points and five assists. His instant offense has shown brightly in the Highlanders' first two contests of the season.

Chandler Turner had his first double-double in a Radford uniform, posting 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Justin Archer came close to one with eight points and a career high-matching 14 boards in a winning effort.

Radford came out firing to start the night, leading by as many as 15 when the scoreboard read 26-11 with 6:35 to go in the first half. Marshall would mount its first comeback of the night to make it close, but the Highlanders pulled away just a bit to make it 33-23 heading into halftime.

The start of the second half was all Thundering Herd as the West Virginia program put together a 13-0 run to go ahead 40-39, their first lead since it was 2-0.

Radford regrouped and rode the energy of the Highlander faithful in the stands, building the lead back to as many as nine late in the second half. Although the Herd had a rough night from deep, multiple threes found the bottom of the net down the stretch and they knotted it up to produce a thrilling ending.
