CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Radford University women's track & field team competed in its penultimate regular season meet this weekend, the three-day UVA Challenge.
RESULTS
Radford posted a handful of strong performances on Friday afternoon, led by
Kate McLearen's efforts in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. After the freshman recorded a podium finish last weekend, she rounded out the top ten this weekend by posting a time of 11:31.59, a new personal record, to improve her spot on the program's all-time top-ten list.
Another personal-best mark was posted on Saturday, this time by
Elyssia Fisher in the long jump. The Durham, N.C. native posted a distance of 5.42 meters.
Jaslyne Robinson continued to impress in the hurdling events; the freshman registered two strong runs in the 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles. She earned a new personal record in the 400-meter event as she posted a time of 1:04.89 to round out the top 20 positions.
A new-look 4x400-meter relay team of
Julia Burkley,
Breauna Lane, Fisher and Robinson closed out the day with the second-best time of the season.
