SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Radford volleyball program fell short Friday evening in a neutral bout against UNC Asheville played in Spartanburg, S.C. The match was held at USC Upstate due to the current situation in Asheville because of Hurricane Helene's impact.
KEY STATS
The Highlanders dominated the first set against Asheville, winning the opening contest 25-17 in impressive fashion. Flanagan got her day started strong beginning with six kills in that opening set.
Once Asheville settled in, the Highlanders began to fall behind and were ultimately unable to mount any sort of comeback in sets two, three and four. Long runs in sets two and three hurt the Highlanders, opening the door for the Bulldogs to pull away in a tight final fourth set.
