Radford Baseball Releases Anticipated 2025 Schedule

RADFORD, Va. -- Highlanders head coach Alex Guerra revealed Radford Baseball's 2025 schedule on Friday afternoon, disclosing a competitive upcoming spring in the New River Valley.

Radford will open their 2025 campaign at home against the Akron Zips, who finished ninth in the MAC last season. The Zips will be in town for a three game series from Feb. 14-16.

The Highlanders will then take their first road trip of the season with a short drive to Harrisonburg to take on James Madison. The Dukes are coming off one of their best years in program history, advancing to the NCAA Tournament after finishing the year with a 36-25 record.

Radford then travels back home for two straight home series at Carter Memorial Stadium, first taking on Quinnipiac from Feb. 21-23, then hosting Mercyhurst from Feb. 28 through March 2.

Following the six game home stretch, the Highlanders will begin a tough portion of their schedule by traveling to Knoxville, Tenn. on Mar. 4 for a matchup with the defending NCAA National Champions, the Tennessee Volunteers. The team will then travel to Greensboro, N.C. for a series with the UNCG Spartans, who finished atop the SoCon last season before an early exit in the conference tournament. 

Continuing the difficult string of games, Radford will travel back home to host the Nittany Lions of Penn State on Mar. 11 at 4 p.m.. The Highlanders will then open up Big South conference play, as they head down to Spartanburg for a series with the conference runners-up, USC Upstate from Mar. 14-16.

Radford will trek through North Carolina after their series with Upstate, taking on Queens (NC) for a single game showdown in Charlotte. The following day, Radford will visit North Carolina A&T for a matchup with the Aggies. After spending almost a week in the Carolinas, the Highlanders will play against the Georgetown Hoyas at their brand new venue, Capital One Park in Tysons, Va. from Mar. 21-23.

The team will then travel back to Radford after a nine game road stretch to host Virginia Tech for a home game on Mar. 25 at 6 p.m.. Following the home matchup with the Hokies, the Highlanders will host the reigning Big South Champions, High Point, for a series from Mar. 28-30. Radford will play part two of their one-off games with the Hokies on Apr. 1 in Blacksburg.

Approaching the midpoint of the season, Radford will travel to Johnson City, Tenn. for a 5 p.m. first pitch against the Bucs on Apr. 2. Head coach Alex Guerra's unit will then travel back home to begin an important lineup of games, primarily concerning in-conference opponents with Charleston Southern up first for a series from Apr. 4-6. Radford will once again play ETSU, this time on home turf on Apr. 8.

The Highlanders will visit VMI on Apr. 9, before heading to Gardner-Webb for a series with the Runnin' Bulldogs from Apr. 11-13. Radford will head back home for an eight day home stay, starting with Queens (NC) on Apr. 15, then hosting Presbyterian for a series from Apr. 18-20. Radford will then have two straight 6 p.m. starts at Carter Memorial Stadium with familiar opponents, starting with NC A&T on Apr. 22, then VMI on Apr. 23.

The Highlanders will head back down to North Carolina for the final time of the regular season, visiting UNC Asheville for a series from Apr. 25-27. Radford then heads to Durham on May 4 for a doubleheader with Duke, who won the ACC Championship last year and advanced to the NCAA Tournament as a #2 seed.

Radford will head home for another single game with JMU, first pitch is 6 p.m. on May 6. The Highlanders will then conclude their regular season with two Big South series, starting with Winthrop at home from May 9-11. Radford Baseball will finish the regular season at Longwood with a series stretching from May 15-17.
