Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men’s Basketball continues one of the best starts to a season in school history in road win at SFU

LORETTO, Pa. - The Radford men's basketball program continued one of its best starts to a season in school history as the Highlanders knocked off Saint Francis, 79-70 in a non-conference clash inside DeGol Arena on Sunday afternoon.

With the win, Radford is off to its hottest start in nearly 35 years with a 7-2 record on the young season. It is the best start to a year since the Highlanders went 8-1 to open the 1990-91 campaign.

It was also the third straight win for Radford overall and improved the team to 7-1 over their last eight games played.

The Highlanders took over the lead at 14-13 with 13:52 left in the first half and never gave it back in another dominant performance. The opening 20 minutes was highlighted by a 8-0 run in the final 83 seconds that gave Radford a 44-31 lead at the half.

Saint Francis was able to cut it as close to seven on two separate occasions in the second half, but as has been the case all season, the Highlanders responded when it mattered most as the Red Flash got no closer in the nine-point victory.
