Men’s Tennis Competes Tight, Falls at #7 Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Radford men's tennis program fell to #7 Wake Forest 6-1 on Sunday afternoon with some tight contests throughout the match.
In doubles, Wake Forest claimed the early 1-0 lead with wins on courts one and two. The duo of Manfredi Vergine and Evan Edwards were in a close battle up 4-3 on court three before ultimately going unfinished.
In singles, the Highlanders efforts were highlighted by Vergine on court six. Vergine picked up a big career-win, outlasting his opponent in three sets to come out with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 victory. On court one, Guilherme Severin also went to a third set but came up just short 6-3, 0-6, 1-6.
The Highlanders final regular season match of the year will be Wednesday, April 17th as the team makes-up a previously postponed match against South Carolina State at home.
