RADFORD, Va. – The red-hot Radford baseball team completed the series sweep in dominate fashion with a 14-2 victory over Mercyhurst on the final contest of the three-game set at Sherman Carter Memorial Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Fans that endured the cold were treated to the best offensive outburst for the Highlanders so far this season. To go with the series sweep, Radford posted a 35-8 run differential in the back-to-back-to-back wins.

THE BREAKDOWN

Eli Hudgins had a season best day with a near perfect 3-for-4 effort at the dish. His afternoon included a game-best four RBI, one run scored, one double and a stolen base. It was the most hits recorded in a game by Hudgins so far in the early part of the year.

Hunter Keen continued to swing a hot stick with yet another 3-for-5 performance. He drove in two RBI, came around to score once, drew a walk, stole a base and blasted a double in the victory.

Noah Toole added a 2-for-4 outing to go with a game-best three runs scored, two RBI, one base on balls, one steal and a two-bagger.

Tyler Kehoe chipped in a 2-for-4 showing that featured two RBI and two runs.

Mason Self (1-for-2, one double),
James Ward (2-for-3, two runs, one RBI),
Tyler Sparrer (one walk) and
Jhonkeanu Perez also drove in a single run apiece for Radford, respectively.

Cody Bradt (1-for-2) and
Corbin Grantham (1-for-2, one walk) came around to score once in the dominating victory.
- Andrew Steinhuas bounced back in a big win to collect his first win on the mound this season. He went six strong innings with four strikeouts and just six hits and two earned runs allowed.

Hunter Howard fired two scoreless frames in relief that included a punch out.

Nick Petit finished things off with a scoreless ninth out of the bullpen.
- Neither Howard or Petit allowed a single hit or a Mercyhurst runner to reach base.
- Including the pitching staff, 18 different Highlanders checked into the game in this one in a total team effort.
- Ten different Radford student-athletes posted at least one hit, nine crossed the plate at least once and eight drove in at least one RBI.
- To go with the strong hitting day, the Highlanders drew six walks overall.
- The 17 Radford hits were also tied for the seventh-most base knocks in a game by a Big South squad so far this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Like has been the trend all series, it was all Radford from the word go.
- The Highlanders dropped nine runs in the bottom of the second, four more in the fifth and another one in the eighth to cruise to the 14-2 win.
