Baseball’s win streak snapped in mid-week battle to North Carolina A&T

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford baseball program saw one of the longest active win streaks in all of NCAA Division I snapped on Tuesday night as the Highlanders fell by an 8-7 margin to visiting North Carolina A&T in a mid-week battle at Sherman Carter Memorial Stadium.

Coming into the evening, Radford was tied for 10th in the nation in longest active win streak. Even with the small setback, the Highlanders will take the 21st longest active conference winning streak into its weekend showdown at UNC Asheville.

- North Carolina A&T responded with two runs in both the top of the second and third to jump ahead 4-3.
- The Highlanders answered right back with a five-spot in the bottom of the fourth to retake a 7-4 advantage. Crisp (RBI single), Toole (RBI single, scored on a wild pitch), Perez (RBI single) and Ward (RBI single) all drove in runs for Radford in the inning.
- The Aggies continued to chip away with one run in the sixth and three more in the seventh to retake the lead once again at 8-7.
- The Highlanders just ran into a pitcher having a career day as the squad could not push another run across over the final five innings as North Carolina A&T escaped with the 8-7 win.
