Men’s Basketball Announces Exciting Roster for Upcoming 2025-26 Season

RADFORD, VA. – Radford Men's Basketball Head Coach Zach Chu has announced 14 players joining the roster for the Highlanders' upcoming 2025-26 season.

The Highlanders' roster additions feature 13 newcomers and one returner promising to deliver a new level of excitement for the debut season under Head Coach Chu. Radford brings in experience from the state, national and international level, including nine transfers from fellow Division I programs, one transfer from the Division II level, one returner from the 2024-25 campaign and four freshmen, with representation from 8 states and 4 countries.

 

TYSON BROWN
Forward | 6-9 | Virginia Beach, Va. | Georgia Southern
  • Standout player for the Georgia Southern program last season totaling 241 points and 225 rebounds while setting the program record for single-season shooting percentage at an impressive 63.4% clip (102-161).
  • One of only four players to appear in all 33 games starting in 29 while leading the team in shooting, rebounding (6.8), blocks (33) and double-doubles (4).
  • Recorded the first point in the history of Georgia Southern's Hill Convocation Center with a 12-point performance against North Florida.
  • Spent the 2023-24 season at Rhode Island appearing in 32 games with 16 starts. Average 4.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while leading the team with 23 blocks.
  • During the 2022-23 season, earned first team all-Southern Conference honors with Florida Southwestern averaging 11.6 ppg and 9.4 rpg with 13 double-doubles.
  • Also played for Western Texas in 2021-22 earning all-WJCAC honors averaging in double figures for scoring and rebounding  while recording 10 double-doubles during the campaign.
  • Attended Massanutten Military Academy prior to the collegiate scene averaging 13.7 ppg and 8.8 rpg as a senior.

COACH'S WORD ON TYSON: "Tyson's experience, skill and toughness on both ends of the court make him a valuable asset to our program. We place a high value on Tyson's ability to finish at the rim, breaking the Georgia Southern single-season field goal percentage record this past season. On the defensive end, Tyson can block shots and become the anchor of our defense. Tyson has participated and been successful in multiple levels of college basketball and we are really excited for him to bring that experience with him to our program."

 

BRENNAN RIGSBY JR.
Guard | 6-3 | De Beque, Colo. | Minnesota
  • Played in 29 games with Minnesota during the 2024-25 season with 10 starts averaging 5.4 ppg, 1.9 rpg and 16.8 minutes.
  • Scored a season-high 20 points at Nebraska while also reaching double figures against Wisconsin, Penn State, Bethune-Cookman, Cleveland State and Yale.
  • Shot 38% overall and 29% from three-point range, hitting a season-high 5 threes in the win over Nebraska.
  • Spent the prior two seasons with Oregon. During 2023-24 he averaged 6.1 ppg on 41% shooting netting a season-high 19 points in a win over Michigan.
  • Competing in the 2022-23 season with Oregon, he played in 21 games making eight starts despite missing the early part of the season due to injury.
  • Spent his freshman 2021-22 season with Northwest Florida State College and led the team to a NJCAA national championship scoring a game-high 24 points in the title game. Averaged 11.6 ppg overall on the season.

COACH'S WORD ON BRENNAN: "Brennan brings a wealth of experience having started his career at Northwest Florida State Junior College before playing three years in high major conferences at Oregon and Minnesota. He will offer veteran leadership to our younger core. Brennan is a jack of all trades kind of player, known for hard play and defensive versatility. He is an excellent cutter and presents a three-point threat that we will certainly leverage within the framework of our offensive system. Brennan has historically made big shots at crucial times in the game, and we feel fortunate to acquire a player with a clutch gene like he has shown in his career thus far."




JAYLON JOHNSON
Guard | 6-0 | Houston, Texas | Tennessee Tech
  • Spent last season leading Tennessee Tech's offense with a remarkable 14.3 ppg and 153 total assists. Started in all 32 games played, scoring in double figures 25 times.
  • Named to the Ohio Valley first-team all-conference and all-newcomer squad at the conclusion of the season while leading the conference in assists, the first Tennessee Tech player to do so since the 2011-12 season.
  • Drained a team-best 75 three-pointers while shooting 35% from beyond the arc while draining at least one three in each of the 32 games he played.
  • Season-high of 31 points against Western Illinois, tying the second-best mark in program history for most threes in a single game.
  • Played at College of Southern Idaho during the 2023-24 season appearing in 30 games with 29 starts leading the team with 446 points, 129 assists, 67 threes and 67 steals.
  • Spent his freshman season in 2022-23 with Concordia Texas competed in all 25 contests with 22 starts leading the team and American Southwest Conference with a 41.8% clip from beyond the arc. Averaged 19.6 ppg, 4.3 apg and 2.0 spg.
  • Lettered at Summer Creek High School in Humble, Texas earning first-team all-district honors and Offensive MVP as a senior.

COACH'S WORD ON JAYLON: "Jaylon possesses the rare qualities of being a commanding floor general, leading the OVC last season in assists, and being able to create his own shot especially late in the game. Jaylon has impacted winning at every level he's played: Region 10 Rookie of the Year at Concordia University, Region 18 2nd-Team Honors at College of Southern Idaho, and this past season at Tennessee Tech earned All-Ohio Valley Conference First Team and OVC All-Newcomer Team. We will heavily rely on Jaylon's experience, leadership and skillset to spearhead our team on offense and defense."




LOUIE JORDAN
Forward | 6-9 | Leicester, England | UMBC
  • Was a sharpshooter from deep for UMBC in a breakout 2024-25 season hitting 48.8% (59-121) of his three-point shots while averaging 7.5 ppg and 0.9 apg.
  • Scored in double figures seven times topping out with a career-high 22 points.
  • His three-point shooting ranked among the best of all Division I players with a minimum 100 attempts.
  • Pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds while also dropping 9 points in nonconference action against Towson.
  • Spent two years previously with Weber State appearing in 40 career games while earning Big Sky all-academic honors in 2022-23.
  • Prior to the collegiate scene, played for Charnwood College in Leicester for three seasons and participated in the Hoopsfix All Star game scoring 22 points on 7-for-8 shooting.

COACH'S WORD ON LOUIE: "Louie was one of the best three-point shooters in the country at 49% during the 24-25 season. In addition to being one of the best shooters in the nation, Louie has great size at 6'9 and is a perfect fit for our position-less system. Maybe the most overlooked quality for Louie is his effort. He runs the floor consistently in transition and defends with physicality and a bit of savviness. We will lean on Louie's extensive experience of collegiate and international basketball and look forward to him having a voice in the locker room and on the court."




BRADLEY LAND
Guard | 6-6 | Dallas, Texas | Colorado Christian
  • Spent the last two seasons at Colorado Christian amassing an impressive 12.7 ppg, 1.3 apg and 5.4 rpg over 54 career starts.
  • Was a premier scorer for the Cougars in 2024-25 averaging 14.5 ppg eclipsing 10 points 22 times and 20 points five times. Set a career-high with 27 points against Western Colorado.
  • Named to the second-team all-RMAC list at the conclusion of the season.
  • First playing season on the collegiate scene left no doubts earning the RMAC honorable mention nod with 11.1 ppg, 5.9 rpg and 0.9 apg.
  • Has totaled four double-doubles in his time at Colorado Christian, two in each season, while also recording an assist in 23 of 26 games during the 2024-25 season.

COACH'S WORD ON BRADLEY: "Bradley is an underrated, hidden gem in the transfer portal coming from Division II. He has the strength of a Center and the skillset of a wing player. His ability to play multiple positions on both ends aligns with our positionless identity and will allow him to flourish as he enters the Division I level. He has consistently progressed every year on the court with his shooting, play making and defensive prowess. Bradley's versatility and high IQ is exactly the type of player we believe will be successful."


DENNIS PARKER JR.
Guard | 6-6 | Richmond, Va. | N.C. State
  • Transfers into the program after spending the last two seasons with N.C. State where he appeared in 52 games and earned 12 starts averaging 13.4 minutes per game.
  • During the 2024-25 campaign, shot 38% overall totaling 79 points and 18 assists.
  • Scored a season-high 18 points against Vanderbilt, just missing a double-double with nine rebounds in the same contest.
  • Scored 95 points (3.8 ppg) and 75 rebounds (3.0 rpg) while shooting 41% overall in his debut season with N.C. State.
  • Was a member of the Wolfpack's remarkable 2024 NCAA Tournament run that advanced to the Final Four.
  • Consensus four-star recruit in the Class of 2023 ranked 94th overall by Rivals.com and 97th overall by On3.com.
  • Was named a Richmond Times-Dispatch/Sports Backers Scholar-Athlete ranked 6th in his class academically at John Marshall High School.

COACH'S WORD ON DENNIS: "Dennis is one of the most versatile players in the country and plays the game with an exciting aggression and ferocity. He was one of the nation's leading rebounders and blocked shots per 40 minutes. Dennis has the ability to play multiple positions and can be a lock down defender for all positions on the court. This versatility and his physical tools make him the perfect fit for our position-less style of play. He is at his best in the open court, playing above the rim and creating chaos on the defensive side of the ball. Dennis was a consensus four-star recruit and top-100 player in the country coming out of high school in the class of 2023. We are extremely excited about the continuing growth of his overall game on both ends."

 

LUKAS WALLS
Guard | 6-5 | Knoxville, Tenn. | Samford
  • Played 22.8 minutes in the most recent 2024-25 campaign on a very successful Samford program the last two seasons appearing in 59 games.
  • During 2024-25, shot 45% overall and 39% from three with 5.8 ppg. Scored in double figures in NIT action against George Mason with season-highs of 12 points against Michigan State and Wofford.
  • In his freshman campaign with the Bulldogs, scored a season-high 11 points three times against Alabama A&M, Wofford and The Citadel.
  • Prepped at Webb School of Knoxville, Tenn. and was named Mr. Division II-AA for the state of Tennessee in 2023.
  • Three-time all-state, four-time all-district and four-time all-region selection. As a senior, averaged over 18 points per game with 5.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists.

COACH'S WORD ON LUKAS: "Lukas is a high IQ, skilled and fearless hooper. His physically imposing build and incredible competitive stamina gives Lukas the ability to set the tone for our team on both ends. Lukas is coming from a winning program and shot 39% from three-point last season. Through our development program, we are going to instill irrational confidence in Lukas' shooting through live reps and depend on his versatility to play multiple positions on the floor. Lukas is going to be a fan favorite because he has the gift of playing extremely hard and unselfish."

 

MARI JORDAN
Guard | 6-5 | Atlanta, Ga. | Tulane
  • Appeared in 24 games and earned four starts last season at Tulane as a consistent scoring threat for the Green Wave averaging 7.0 ppg.
  • Scored in double figures 12 times including a season-high 18 points in his collegiate debut. Pulled down a season-high eight rebounds three different times against Florida Atlantic, Bethune-Cookman and New Orleans.
  • Dropped 20 points on over 50% shooting and 11 rebounds in Tulane's AAC Tournament run.
  • Redshirted his debut season to preserve freshman eligibility after initially being recruited by Georgia.
  • While on international tour with Georgia, shot 60% from the field while averaging 11.5 ppg in two outings in Italy.
  • Rated as a four-star prospect by ESPN out of Norcross High School in the 2023 signing class. Listed as the 84th overall recruit and 21st small forward in his class by ESPN.
  • Named all-state by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution following his junior and senior seasons. Averaged figures of 16.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists as a senior to lead Norcross to the Region 7-7A title and semifinals of the state tournaments.

COACH'S WORD ON MARI: "We are incredibly excited about Mari becoming a Highlander. Mari is a very driven, versatile and talented prospect. He is a former four-star prospect and top 100 player in the High School Class of 2023. He has had previous stops at the University of Georgia and Tulane University and his experience at the upper levels of college basketball is invaluable to us as a team. Mari's size, skill and character are a perfect match for our position-less and selfless brand of basketball."



DEL JONES
Guard | 6-3 | Arlington, Va. | Clemson
  • Appeared in 32 games with Clemson during the 2024-25 season totaling 123 points and 32 assists in his freshman campaign.
  • Dropped a season-high of 13 points at Virginia Tech while also scoring in double figures against Penn State.
  • Shot 40% overall on the season on 119 total attempts while sinking 31% of his three-point shots.
  • Scored his first career points in the NCAA Tournament in First Round action against McNeese in 12 minutes of action.
  • Was ranked as 66th overall player and 14th point guard according to ESPN out of high school as a four-star recruit. Ranked 90th overall and 7th point guard by 247Sports.
  • Played for Team Durant on the EYBL Circuit averaging 10.8 ppg, 4.5 apg and 3.5 rpg.

COACH'S WORD ON DEL: "Del is a dynamic and explosive guard that has played at the highest level in college, high school and on the EYBL circuit. Due to his incredible speed, Del thrives in the open court by putting constant pressure on the rim and creating for his teammates. His competitiveness and grit makes Del an ideal addition to our offensive system and is an immediate impact player on the defensive end as well. A former top-75 player in the nation coming out of high school in the class of 2024, Del has only scratched the surface of the player he is going to be, and we are committed to relentless development of his game once he arrives on campus at Radford."

 

ZION WALKER
Guard | 6-2 | Burlington, N.C. | The Burlington School
  • Returns to the Highlanders after a solid debut season in 2024-25 where he appeared in 27 games and earned one start averaging 10.9 minutes despite being sidelined with an injury at the end of the season.
  • Finished the season with 159 points (5.9 ppg) and 27 assists (1.0 apg) breaking out in a career-best performance with 30 points against Winthrop, becoming just the second Highlander freshman to go over 30 in a game.
  • Scored in double figures against Southern Virginia, Clemson, Colorado State and again in the rematch against Winthrop.
  • Shot 48% overall on the season, 39% from three-point range and an impressive 85% (40-47) at the free throw line.
  • Was named Big South Freshman of the Week twice during the season.
COACH'S WORD ON ZION: "We are extremely excited in Zion's decision to return as a Highlander for this upcoming season. It was a joy getting to know Zion this Spring. He is a very intelligent individual who has a natural charisma about him that serves as an attractive energy. Having Zion back as our only returning player places a large amount of responsibility on him at a young age to lead and guide our players who are coming from a diverse set of backgrounds. Zion is a talented scorer who has playmaking attributes and a strong frame at his position."


DIOGO ALVES
Guard | 6-2 | Tualatin, Ore. | Tualatin HS
  • Brings a plethora of Elite High School and FIBA National Team experience.
  • Known as a knockdown shooter for Tualatin High School in Tualatin, Oregon. Following the 24-25 season Diogo was named Defensive MVP for his team.
  • Prior to Tualatin, Diogo played for Lakeridge High School and before that, Salt Lake Academy.
  • The Marksman also appeared for the Brazilian u17 National Team in the 2023 South American Championships and the FIBA U18 Americas Championship. On the 2023 Bronze Medal u17 Brazilian team, Diogo averaged 5.2ppg.
  • Alves also participated in the prestigious BWB Americas event in Montreal in 2023 where he averaged 4ppg on 40% 3pt shooting.

COACH'S WORD ON DIOGO: "We are really excited about Diogo's commitment to our program. He has a great work ethic, and the development of his game is evident over the last couple years. Diogo has a real gift to shoot the basketball on the catch and off the dribble. Diogo is a high character young man that comes from a great basketball family, and we are ecstatic to have him join our team."
 

FREDERIK ERICHSEN
Forward | 6-9 | Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Spent the last year playing for Ratiopharm ULM in the German NBBL averaging 16.8ppg, 7.4rbs, 2.0 apg, 1.5stl/g in just 22.9mpg
  • In the Fall of 2024 Frederik appeared in 3 games for the Denmark Senior Men's National team posting a game with 6 points and 2 assists in 17 minutes vs the Serbia Men's National Team
  • During the Summer of 2024 Frederik represented the Denmark U18 team in the European Championships. During the tournament Frederik led the team in assists per game posting averages of: 11.3ppg, 4.8rbs, and 6.2 apg in 25mpg.
  • Frederik also made appearances in prestige events in the summer of 2024 playing at the Adidas Nations Next Generation tournament & the NBA Academy games where he led his team in assists, rebounds and a championship appearance.
  • During the 2023-2024 season Frederik played for the Bakken Bears, the premier professional club in Denmark. He helped his team win a Danish National Championship that season
 
COACH'S WORD ON FREDERIK: "We are ecstatic about adding a player as talented and versatile as Frederik to our first Highlander recruiting class. He is someone with his size & skill set can play any position on the floor which makes him compatible with our position-less style of play. He is a proven player at the highest levels of international basketball & we expect him to make an immediate impact in his first season as a Highlander. Lad os arbejde!"

 

GABRIEL FERREIRA
Center | 6-10 | Paulista-Pernambuco, Brazil
  • Comes to Radford from NBA Latin America Academy where he was the starting Center.
  • During the 24-25 season Gabi averaged 15.5ppg, 10.1rbs, 1.6 blocks/g and 1.4 stl/g while shooting 38% from 3. Gabi posted these numbers vs other NBA Academies, NIKE EYBL teams, Mexican Universities, and versus the top prep schools programsin the United States.
  • Represented the NBA Latin America Academy from 2022-2025.
  • During his time with the Academy he was invited to prestigious BWB (Basketball Without Borders) events including: BWB 2024 GLOBAL at the 2024 NBA All Star Game, BWB Americas 2023 and 2022. During the 2023 BWB FIBA Americas event Gabi was named an All Star & Defensive MVP of the event.
  • Gabi has made numerous appearances for the Brazilian National team, most recently being the starting Center during the 2024 FIBA U18 Americas Championship averaging 6.3ppg, 4.5rbs, 1.5 blk, and 1apg.

COACH'S WORD ON GABRIEL: "Gabi offers a unique ability to stretch the floor as a forward. His ability to dribble, pass and shoot from the Forward or Center position puts pressure on opponent big men to defend him out to the three point line. He has tremendous length and a knack to block shots around the basket. Gabi is showing to develop quickly through his time at the NBA Latin America Academy in Mexico. We are extremely encouraged by the rate of which he has shown improvement and look forward to further developing his skillset around a position-less style of play. Vamos trabalhar!"

 

LADAVIAN KING
Guard | 6-2 | Aurora, Colo. | Rangeview HS
  • Joins the Highlanders from Rangeview High School in Aurora, Colorado.
  • During the 24-25 Season LD led his team to the State Title Game averaging 16.2ppg, 3.2apg, and 4.9rbs/g.
  • Earned 1st team all conference and Player of the Year honors in the prestigious City League.
  • Made appearances on Team Pluto and the Mountain Stars AAU programs throughout his High School career.

COACH'S WORD ON LADAVIAN: "It brings me great pleasure to welcome LaDavian to the Highlander family. LD is a gifted scorer and competitor. His quickness provides him the ability to blow by primary defenders to create for teammates or himself. LD's passion for basketball and team first mentality has labeled him as a winner throughout his high school career and we are excited to have his successful pedigree in our Freshmen class."
