Radford Athletics Welcomes Epperly as Director of Revenue Generation

RADFORD, Va. – Radford Athletics announced on Friday that Cole Epperly will serve as the new Director of Revenue Generation. A familiar face around the Radford Athletics campus, the Radford alumnus has spent the past nine years as part of the gameday operations staff.
"I am thrilled to be back at my Alma Mater and with the program that opened to door to me in college athletics," Epperly added. "The Radford community is one that shaped me into who I am today. Getting to work directly with the community and supporters while growing the athletics department is a responsibility I don't take lightly, and I'm excited to help build something lasting for Radford Athletics."
In his new role, Epperly oversees the revenue generation side of the department through corporate partnerships, ticket sales, and Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) opportunities. This position will assist the overall athletic department corporate sponsorship program to include new sales, renewal of existing accounts, activation, achievement of sales goals, and consistent relationship building with the community.
Epperly joins Radford Athletics after serving as an Account Executive – Revenue Generation with Virginia Tech Sports Properties (Learfield). While in Blacksburg, he boasted $3.3 million in total revenue through ticket sales and donor contributions for the Hokies while securing hundreds of thousands in new gifts for the program. Epperly also retained over 90 percent of season ticket and membership accounts in his year at Virginia Tech.
During his stop as a Hokie, Epperly continued to serve part-time as an Assistant Operations and Gameday Manager with Radford Athletics, a position he held since August 2021. Under the tutelage of the Director of Operations Neal Leahy, he assisted his fellow Radford alumnus across all sports programs. Epperly first began working under Leahy as a member of the student operations staff back as an undergraduate freshman in 2017.
He also spent the 2023-24 athletic year as an intern with the Highlander Club, helping the primary annual fundraising mechanism research best practices in college athletics fundraising and identify potential donors through creating meaningful relationships in the community.
Epperly received his Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management from Radford University in May 2021. He also earned a Masters in Comprehensive Sport Industry Management in 2024, graduating with a 4.0 GPA from West Virginia University. The Riner, Va. native attended Auburn High School.
