2018 Highlights • BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM
Made return to mound after missing 2017 with shoulder injury…Inserted into starting role midway through season after serving in long relief role…Appeared in 17 games with 10 starts…Finished with 9-4 record and 3.54 ERA…Became only the fourth Highlander to win nine-plus games in a season…Led Big South in wins and ranked 30th nationally…Finished fifth in league in ERA…Struck out 69 in 68.2 innings, walking only 22 batters…Finished with a 3.14 strikeout-to-walk ratio…Struck 9.04 batters per nine innings…Opposing teams hit only .233…Went 6-3 with a 4.03 ERA in 10 Big South games, including eight starts…Finished with a 3-1 mark and 3.44 ERA in non-conference games…Held left-handed batters to a .225 average (23 for 102)…Allowed only 17 two-out hits…In seven games out of bullpen was 4-2 with a 3.50 ERA…Had four-plus strikeouts in eight games…Struck out a career-high 11 batters over 7.1 frames at Winthrop (April 14), allowing only one run on four hits…Struck out eight over four frames of relief at Virginia Tech (Feb. 27)…Had eight strikeouts in 5.2 innings versus Presbyterian (April 28)…Collected 30 strikeouts over 25.2 innings from April 8-28 in four starts.
