Singh joined the Radford Baseball coaching staff as a graduate assistant in August 2022. He will work primarily with hitters and infielders.
“First of all, I want to thank Alex Guerra for offering me this unbelievable opportunity,” said Singh. “Coach Guerra coached me and taught me so much when I was a freshman on the James Madison University baseball team. It’s great to be back together with him in this environment! In addition, I get to work with and learn from three other outstanding coaches. I’m honored to be a part of the Radford University baseball program. It’s exciting to help build a championship culture where everyone has the same end goal. Let’s get to work!”
Singh comes to Radford from Norfolk State, where he spent the past four years playing for the Spartans. As a junior in 2021, he hit a team-high seven home runs while collecting 28 RBI. For his career, Singh totaled 104 games in a Spartan uniform, driving in 58 runs.
In the classroom, Singh was named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll, as well as the Norfolk State Athletic Director Honor Roll and Dean’s List. He graduated from Norfolk State in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, and is currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Media and Communications.
A native of Sangre Grande, Trinidad and Tobago, Singh started his collegiate career at James Madison, where he played under Alex Guerra, who served as the Dukes’ assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. He redshirted as a freshman in 2017 before transferring to Patrick Henry Community College the following season, batting .291 with eight home runs and 29 RBI.
In the summer of 2022, Singh worked as an assistant coach with American Legion Baseball, an amateur organization that gives players an opportunity to develop skills and leadership qualities.
