Junard Hartley was named Director of Basketball Operations for Radford in July 2016.
In his role, Hartley oversees the daily operations of the men's basketball program, including the logistics of budget, game-day management, coordination of managers' duties, team travel arrangements and equipment coordination.
He played an integral role in Radford's 2018 run to a Big South championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament that included the program's first ever NCAA Tournament victory.
Prior to arriving in the New River Valley, Hartley was the assistant coach at Westlake High School in Atlanta, Ga. His primary duties were player development and defensive strategy.
A native of Atlanta, Hartley served as a graduate assistant for Georgia State from 2012-14. He coordinated all camps, created weekly practice and academic schedules for players, orchestrated player individual workouts, delegated duties for student team managers and assisted with the director of basketball operations.
As a student-athlete, Hartley was a four-year standout at point guard for Campbell when the Camels competed in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The 2010 A-Sun Defensive Player of the Year, Hartley was a Bob Cousy Award nominee, which is given to the best point guard in the nation.
Hartley earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Campbell University in 2011 and a M.S. in Sports Administration from Georgia State University in 2014.
