Timothy Peete enters his fourth season as a men’s basketball assistant at Radford for the 2024-25 campaign, a position he took over in May 2021.
PRIOR TO RADFORD
Peete made his way to the New River Valley after one season as an assistant coach at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri. Coaching under Will Martin, he helped the Griffons go 14-11 overall with a 13-9 mark in Mid-America Intercollegiate play. With the strong performance, the squad earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Division II National Tournament for the first time in 11 years. Peete developed four All-MIAA award-winners during his year with the program.
Prior to his time with Missouri Western, Peete served as the Director of Player Development at UNC Greensboro under head coach Wes Miller. The Spartans went 23-9 that year, which included an impressive 13-5 mark in league play while leading the country in turnover margin (+6.4) and ranking in the top-six nationally in steals per game (9.3). UNC Greensboro boasted the Southern Conference Player of the Yer and Defensive Player of the Year in Isiah Miller as well as the SoCon Freshman of the Year in Keyshaun Langley.
Peete also spent time as an assistant coach at Chipola College in 2018-19, joining Brendan Foley’s staff at one of the perennial powerhouse NJCAA programs in the nation. The Indians posted a 27-5 record in Peete’s year with the program. Chipola College ranked in the top-25 of the national polls for the majority of the season as the squad advanced to the state semifinal. The Indians garnered six All-Conference honorees after the standout year.
Before joining the collegiate ranks full-time, Peete was a high school coach at Arlington High School to go with being a skills trainer in Memphis, Tennessee where he worked with athletes from all levels, which included Ian Clark, DJ Stephens and Mardracus Wade.
The Memphis native spent two years of his first stint at UNCG from 2016-18, where he was a graduate assistant under Miller. Peete experienced 52 victories in that two-year span, a par of SoCon regular season championships and the 2018 SoCon Tournament title. That led to the school’s first NCAA Tournament appearance in 17 years. That national appearance came after UNCG qualified for the National Invitational Tournament (NIT) the previous season behind a school record 25 wins. Peete worked closely with five All-SoCon student-athletes, which included 2017-18 Defensive Player of the Year James Dickey. His head coach Miller also went on to win SoCon Coach of the Year in 2017-18.
COLLEGE PLAYING CAREER (UNIVERSITY OF TULSA)
A four-year letterwinner at the University of Tulsa, Peete played in 129 career games under head coaches Doug Wojcik and Danny Manning. During his senior campaign, he started all but one game as the Hurricane swept the Conference USA regular season and tournament championships and qualified for the NCAA Tournament. He was bestowed with the Conference USA Spirit of Service Award during the 2013-14 season, honoring him for significant community service endeavors, good academic standing and standout participation in their sport.

Peete graduated from Tulsa in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in business management. He later achieved his master’s degree in applied arts and sciences in 2018 from UNC Greensboro. Prior to his college playing days, Peete was a four-year letterwinner and starter at Memphis Central High School.
