Mark White enters his ninth season at Radford University serving dual roles as both the recruiting coordinator as well as overseeing the sprints, relays, and hurdles. He is USA Track & Field Level Two certified in combined events.

The 2013-14 indoor season saw 12 program top-10 times being recorded, eight on the men's side and four on the women's side. Lakei Crews highlighted a stellar indoor season for the women with a school-record-tying performance in the 60m dash while Vincent Wyatt went for gold in the 60m hurdles, both which were recorded at the Big South Indoor Conference Championship meet.

White and the rest of the staff have put together an impressive incoming class for 2014-15 that has claimed a total six state titles.

2013-14 year in review:

1 Conference Championship (Vincent Wyatt, Men's 60m Hurdles)
1 All American Performer (Vincent Wyatt, Men's 60m Hurdles)
24 Top Ten Times
1 Big South Male Track Athlete of the year (Vincent Wyatt, Men's 110m Hurdles)
1 NACAC Silver Medal (Vincent Wyatt, Men's 110m Hurdles)
5 Big South Athlete of the week selections

Since White’s arrival at Radford, every men’s school record in sprints, hurdles, and relays (with the exception of three) have been eclipsed - both indoor and outdoor. Radford no longer competes in two of those three events, 55m and 55m hurdles.

Under White's guidance, Vincent Wyatt reached Honorable Mention All-America honors in the 60-meter hurdles for the 2012-13 indoor season. In accomplishing the feat, Wyatt became Radford track & field's seventh All-American. Wyatt carried his momentum into outdoor season where he finished 13th in the 110-meter hurdles at the NCAA East Regional. Following the outdoor season and under White's watch, Wyatt competed at the USA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships where he crossed the line placing 28th in the 110-meter hurdles.

White came to Radford after teaching and coaching at Middlesex County, Va. for 11 years. During that time he filled a variety of athletics capacities, including six years as the school’s athletics director. He also served as the head varsity football coach and track & field coach.

Under his guidance, the Middlessex boys track and field program won three consecutive Tidewater District Championships, Region A Championship in 2006 and a state runner-up placing in 2006. White was tabbed the Tidewater District Coach of the Year for three consecutive years (2000-07) and was awarded Region A Coach of the Year in 2006.

White received his bachelor’s degree in history from  Ferrum College in 1996. He played baseball for the Panthers for four years (1991-95), where he was a teammate of perennial National League All-Star relief pitcher Billy Wagner. White also served as an assistant coach under Ferrum legend Abe Naff.
During his high school teaching and coaching career, White earned his master's degree from Ohio University in 2006 in sports science and athletic administration.

In October 2013, White married Maggie Johnson. The couple resides in Dublin, Va., with daughters, Abigail and Annabelle.
