Cameron Fagan was announced as an assistant softball coach in August 2024 and is entering her third season in the role.
Â
During the 2025 campaign, the Highlanders softball program saw rejuvenated heights claiming the Big South Regular Season Title as well as finishing ranked 24th in the D1 Softball Mid-Major poll. During the season, Radford posted a 30-26 overall record, 14-4 in Big South play, claiming notable victories over programs such as Louisville, East Carolina, Binghamton, Villanova, Charlotte, and UNC Greensboro. Radford continued that momentum into 2026 being ranked in the D1 Softball preseason poll and would go on to pick up key wins over Central Arkansas, Liberty, UConn, Boston College, and Campbell.
Â
In her debut season with the Highlanders, Fagan helped the Highlanders post one of the best fielding percentages in the conference and in program history. Radford's .971 fielding percentage ranked best in the Big South, 40th among all Division I programs and top-5 in program history. Those defensive improvements continued into 2026 as Radford picked up a reputation as one of the best fielding squads in the Big South. The team’s .970 fielding percentage ranked 60th in the country and was best in the Big South.
Â
Offensively, multiple Highlanders saw marked improvement under Fagan including three hitters who increased their batting averages by a full .100 points in 2025 compared to their 2024 seasons. Radford's offense also drew 137 walks on the season, which ranked top-10 in program history while improving their strikeout-to-walk ratio from 1.81 in 2024 down to 1.48 in 2025.
Â
Prior to joining the Highlanders, Fagan saw a standout four-year career as a student-athlete with fellow New River Valley program Virginia Tech. During her tenure with the Hokies, Fagan earned awards such as NFCA Mid-Atlantic Regional Teams (2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024), All-ACC Teams (2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024), All-ACC Academic (2023), and DI Softball National Player of the Week (2024).
Â
Fagan knows a thing or two about rewriting record books as she also solidified program top 10 totals for batting average, hits, home runs, RBI, slugging percentage, total bases, walks, runs and on base percentage while with Virginia Tech.
