Julia Heaps

Julia Heaps was named assistant coach for Radford women's lacrosse in December 2014. In her role at Radford, Heaps serves as the offensive coordinator and handles recruiting.

In her three years working with the Highlanders, Heaps has helped the team reach new heights each year. School records in wins have been reached each year and the team has boasted at least two All-Big South players each of the last two years.

Heaps is no stranger to the New River Valley, having played collegiately at Virginia Tech. She started all 17 games as an attacker during her senior season, notching 32 goals, 16 assists and 48 points. Heaps’ 46 career assists rank sixth all-time in program history. Following her senior campaign, Heaps was selected to the IWLCA North-South All-Star Game.

In addition to her collegiate experience, Heaps has worked high-profile lacrosse camps at Duke, Maryland, North Carolina and Vanderbilt. She has also served as a club coach for North East Maryland Select since 2010.

Heaps earned her undergraduate degree in sociology from Virginia Tech in May 2013.
